Federal Medicaid Program

Schools can be reimbursed from Dr. Dinosaur for services provided to students on Individual Education Plans (IEP’s). As the parent of a child on an IEP, you can help us to get this reimbursement by giving your consent. The information you give is confidential and will only be used to bill for your child’s services. Allowing us to bill Dr. Dinosaur will not change your child’s health benefits provided by Dr. Dinosaur. There are no caps or limits to the amount of services your child is receiving. If you have health insurance, as well as Dr. Dinosaur, your insurance will not be billed.

If you choose not to release/share this information, it will not change the services your child receives. Services will still be provided as stated on your child’s IEP.

Every year a committee is formed that is made up of school staff and teachers from each school and also community members from the district to determine how this money will be spent.

For the 2001-2002 school year, Medicaid funds have contributed to support the following:

  1. Classroom assistants to work with children who are not meeting the Vermont Framework of Standards

  2. Speech Language services for early education and elementary age children
  3. Home School Coordinators
  4. Student Assistance Program personnel
  5. Early education pre-school space
